Offermatic Is The Freak Love Child Of Mint, Groupon And Blippy
May 5, 2010, 6:50 am | தலைப்புப் பக்கம்

The best way to describe Offermatic is this – imagine if Mint, Blippy and Groupon went off to Vegas for the weekend, got wasted and ended up in bed together. Nine months later, out pops Offermatic. Like Mint, Offermatic is a front end user interface to Yodlee’s robust financial network. And the service digs through your credit card transactions just like Blippy does (although they aren’t posted for the world to see). And like Groupon, Offermatic is pushing special offers to users. The result...தொடர்ந்து படிக்கவும் »

Amazon Wants To Give A Free Kindle To All Amazon Prime Subscribers
February 12, 2010, 10:11 am | தலைப்புப் பக்கம்

In January Amazon offered select customers a free Kindle of sorts – they had to pay for it, but if they didn’t like it they could get a full refund and keep the device. It turns out that was just a test run for a much more ambitious program. A reliable source tells us Amazon wants to give a free Kindle to every Amazon Prime subscriber. Just as soon as they can work out how to do it without losing money. Amazon Prime is a subscription product that gives customers free two day shipping...தொடர்ந்து படிக்கவும் »

An Apology To Our Readers
February 5, 2010, 5:41 am | தலைப்புப் பக்கம்

On Monday evening I received a phone call from someone I trust who told me that one of our interns had asked for compensation in exchange for a blog post. Specifically, this intern had allegedly asked for a Macbook Air in exchange for a post about a startup. After an investigation we determined that the allegation was true. In fact, on at least one other occasion this intern was almost certainly given a computer in exchange for a post. The intern in question has admitted to some of...தொடர்ந்து படிக்கவும் »

Bam! Avatar Hits $1 Billion In Ticket Sales In 17 Days, Already No. 4 ...
January 4, 2010, 8:01 am | தலைப்புப் பக்கம்

James Cameron will shortly be responsible for the two highest grossing films of all time. After just 17 days Avatar has gathered over $1 billion in gross ticket sales, placing it fourth all time after Titanic ($1.8 billion), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($1.12 billion) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest ($1.07 billion). At $1.02 billion through Sunday, Avatar will shortly jump from no. 4 to no. 2. The box office amount is fueled by 3D and IMAX ticket sales,...தொடர்ந்து படிக்கவும் »

Avatar Is Like The iPhone Of Movies
December 19, 2009, 7:47 pm | தலைப்புப் பக்கம்

I’ve seen Avatar twice now, which is saying something when you’re talking about a nearly three hour movie that was released 36 hours ago. But we lined up on Thursday night for the first midnight showing. And then I saw it again yesterday at the TechCrunch screening in San Francisco. What do I think? I think I’m going to go see it again this weekend at an IMAX theater. Because the movie is awesome in 3D, but I want to see it in 3D on a 50 ft by 70 ft screen. Movies will never be the same...தொடர்ந்து படிக்கவும் »

What If Steve Jobs Hadn’t Returned To Apple In 1997?
November 26, 2009, 12:36 pm | தலைப்புப் பக்கம்

Today is Thanksgiving in the U.S. Traditionally we take stock of the things that we’re thankful for on this day each year. And I realized that one of those things is Steve Jobs. I’m thankful that he returned to Apple in 1997 and did the things he has done since. It wasn’t at all a certainty that he would ever return to the company that he cofounded two decades earlier. In fact, it was only luck and coincidence that pushed him back there. It was late December 1996. I was an associate at...தொடர்ந்து படிக்கவும் »
